Camerawork and editing: Minority Report analysis

Medium close up
This is a medium close up shot as it allows us to see the head and shoulders of the police men and women. The use of the medium close up shows that the whole police force is after that one man, John Anderton, this implies that he is in a lot of danger and in a threatening environment as well as adding a lot of tension to that scene. This shot also dramatises it as its showing the police force and when you see police you immediately think there is trouble as well as seeing the emotion on the main police mans face the audience can make a connection between him and the guy they are after. In the film the police officer has to arrest his own boss, so the use of the medium close up shot can show the emotion in his face, you can see that he is determined to get him however seems a bit cautious of the consequences if he does.

Establishing shot
This shot introduces the location where the scene is going to take place, also this shows plenty of action scenes as it fits everything in. We can tell the scene is going to take place in an alley way with an abandoned car which has been vandalised also there is buildings with scaffolding which the audience can interpret that the man in the bottom right corner will be climbing them.  The use of the dark colour scheme of the blues and navy's suggest that the main character is going to encounter some sort of danger, aswell as danger the dark colours are typical for a sci-fi film, creating lots of suspense and mystery

Close up
This shot is a a close up because we can identify one main thing in the scene which is the main character. The use of the close up shows the emotion on the characters face, this way the audience can relate to his feelings, as he is looking up this can suggest that he is distressed or is angry at the police officers approaching him, the audience can then interpret that he is quite tense and something is going to happen to him in the upcoming scene.
