Camerawork and editing: Minority Report analysis

Medium close up
This is a medium close up shot as it allows us to see the head and shoulders of the police men and women. The use of the medium close up shows that the whole police force is after that one man, John Anderton, this implies that he is in a lot of danger and in a threatening environment as well as adding a lot of tension to that scene. This shot also dramatises it as its showing the police force and when you see police you immediately think there is trouble as well as seeing the emotion on the main police mans face the audience can make a connection between him and the guy they are after. In the film the police officer has to arrest his own boss, so the use of the medium close up shot can show the emotion in his face, you can see that he is determined to get him however seems a bit cautious of the consequences if he does.

Establishing shot
This shot introduces the location where the scene is going to take place, also this shows plenty of action scenes as it fits everything in. We can tell the scene is going to take place in an alley way with an abandoned car which has been vandalised also there is buildings with scaffolding which the audience can interpret that the man in the bottom right corner will be climbing them.  The use of the dark colour scheme of the blues and navy's suggest that the main character is going to encounter some sort of danger, aswell as danger the dark colours are typical for a sci-fi film, creating lots of suspense and mystery

Close up
This shot is a a close up because we can identify one main thing in the scene which is the main character. The use of the close up shows the emotion on the characters face, this way the audience can relate to his feelings, as he is looking up this can suggest that he is distressed or is angry at the police officers approaching him, the audience can then interpret that he is quite tense and something is going to happen to him in the upcoming scene.

Camera shots/angles

Wide shot
This is a wide shot as it introduces the location, it also has no main focus as its just showing the setting.
We know this is taking place in a school because of the buildings in the background.

Long shot
This shot still shows background however has a main focus, the character which is walking through the school.
At this point the character has made an entrance, we can infer that she is angry as her head is tilted to the floor and is walking by herself as well as her clenched fist.

Over the shoulder shot
The over the shoulder shot shows the characters point of view and also focuses on the characters emotions, this will help the audience relate to how the character is feeling in that specific moment.
At this point of the story the bully has encountered her victim, you can tell that she doesn't care about him because she has shown no emotion on her face.

Medium Shot
This is showing the victims waist down allowing it to be a medium shot, this shot shows us how the character is feeling without showing any facial expression, the clenched fist implies that the character is aggravated or very angry.

Low Angle shot
The lower angle shows that the victim is now in control and seems more powerful and threatening then the bully. He has taken full control of the situation.

High angle shot
This angle has been used to show the weakness and vulnerability of the bully now that the situation has changed and the victim is ready to seek revenge.

*DIDN'T TAKE THE PICTURE*
This shot was supposed to show a Birds eye view of the 2 characters running after each other into the building, this shot was used because we wanted to get a full picture of what was happening, also to show possible danger to the characters,

Low angle shot
This shot shows the emotion of the teacher as he thinks that the children are playing however he is wrong.

Long shot
This shot is a long shot as their head and toes are visible, also fits in plenty of the action. At this point the bully has taken control again and it dominating the victim by pushing him down the stairs

*DID NOT TAKE THE PHOTO*
This shot was supposed to be a big close up of the victims eyes while he is on the floor after getting pushed down the stairs, we used this shot to show extreme detail and emphasises what is in the shot, this will allow the audience to relate on an emotional level.

LIAR key concept film poster analysis

Image result for inception movie poster

Language

The red in the title suggests that there is some sense of danger in the film as red symbolises blood or death this relates to how this could be a thriller film as that normally has blood or a death. The dark suit suggests how intense the film is, also the suit mirrors the actors role in the film as very dominant and serious also the gun reflects his dominance as well. The colour scheme is very dark blues and navy's these have been used to show how mysterious the film is as well as dreamlike, gives a very surreal look.

Insitution
The directors name is not on the poster, but it says 'from the director of the dark night' this is important because that film was very successful so this film has set high quality standards. The film won the best director and more visual awards. It includes the indefinite release date saying 'summer 2010'. However is says 'experience' instead of the basic watch or realised. This gives the audience a sense of involvement that they won't just simply watch the film.this creates more excitement.

Audience

This looks like this would Stacey people who like physiological thrillers or more action packed films this is may be because the main character is holdings gun in the poster. A teenage age range might apply due to the 12 certificate. The name of the famous actor is at the top of the poster draws attention of the viewer as hey will be more intrigued to see what their role is.  The slogan 'your mind is he scene of the crime scene' uses the personal pronoun 'your' to direct the audience so they feel more involved in the film.

Representation

The main focus point of the poster is Leonardo dicaprio standing with his head slightly turned, this makes his character mysterious intriguing audiences. He is also holding a gun in his right hand. This gives a hint that there will be violence involved in the film which will excite fans of thriller/action genre.
